Jim Meneely

MINISTER  | TEACHER


Bro. Jim Meneely obeyed the gospel and has been a member of the Church of Christ since May 18, 1953. He has preached for churches of Christ in Coy, Green forest and North Little Rock, Arkansas. Shortly after placing membership in 2018 at the Kentucky Avenue congregation, he soon found himself coming out of retirement as a preacher, to preach in rotation for the past 3 years during the time of Covid, while the congregation was seeking a full time minister. He is a graduate of the Bay Area School of Preaching and completed a BA degree in History  from California State Stanislaus in Turlock, CA.  In his secular employment, he retired from the State of Washington where he did federal funding for children's services, and was living in Arizona prior to coming to Woodland, CA.

 

 

Mark Watkins

MINISTER OF EVANGELISM 


Bro. Mark Watkins is a passionate man after God's own heart. He obeyed the gospel in 1980, and was baptized by Evangelist Robert L Worde, at the 4th & P St. Church of Christ in Merced CA where he was given the opportunity to preach and to teach. He was later recruited by Dr. Bernard Howell to be a pulpit preacher in 1999 at the Davis Church of Christ in Davis, CA, and also helped to instruct and encourage Mark to finish his Christian education. He has been blessed by these men and their wives and many others. He was also mentored by King Morris at the May Street congregation, where he was a member from 1983 to 2000. He has served as an evangelist at several local congregations in the Sacramento area and is currently the Minister of Evangelism at the Kentucky Avenue Church of Christ. Educationally, he has received his B.A. in Biblical Studies from Southern Christian University, and a Masters of Divinity in Ministerial Leadership and Human Services from Regions University.

He has been married to his wife Audrey Watkins for 26 years, and they have 3 sons, Mark Jr, Myles Watkins, and a Step-Son  Russell E. Black.  One of his favorite scriptures is 1 Corinthians 9:16-17

 

 

Manuel Lopez

SPANISH SPEAKING  MINISTER 


Bro. Manuel Lopez, is truly a servant in God's kingdom. His love for people and passion for the Lord, has lead him to serve in many capacities in the Lord's vineyard as a preacher, youth director, and extensive missionary work in Columbia, Panama, Tegucigalpa, Guatemala, Nicaragua and El Salvador. He received his primary Education at Escuela Delfina de Dfaz Guazapa, San Salvador, el Salvador, an accounting degree from Instituto Nacional de Apopa in San Salvador, El Salavador, and a Bachelor's in Theology from Baxter Institute of Biblical Studies in Tegucigalpa, Honduras.

 

 

 

 

Maria Cuevas

ADMINISTRATIVE ASSISTANT


Maria stepped into the position of Administrative Assistant in 2019, and has been such a value to the Kentucky Avenue congregation. She loves to worship the Lord, and when not taking care of administrative duties and among other responsibilities, she is actively involved in the Tuesday morning Sisters Connect Bible Study Class. She is a graduate of Amridge University receiving her degree in counseling, Summa Cum Laude, and a graduate of Light University as a Board Certified Mental Health Coach. We are so appreciative to have her for all she does for us and to the glory of God's kingdom.
